9 months and no patty cake

Am I the only mom that feels like her child's doctors appointments are like work reviews? I feel like I am sitting down for my annual review every time Enzo's doctor sits down with me. Thankfully, I get to keep my job and get a raise every time.

The other day Enzo and I went in for our 9 month review. My little baby boy is now 29.5 inched long and 21 pounds. He has hit all his milestones for his age and is a little advanced in some as well. ( this makes me smile) However, the doctor made a comment that by this age he should be playing patty cake. Now, he said this is nothing to worry about. But I just can't help but be the slightest bit concerned.

He claps, when he feels like it. Enzo can even give you a high-five. But patty cake. nope.

Today I sat down with him and tried to play patty cake with him a few times. But the new ball pit won in the fight for his attention. Alas, we will try again tomorrow.

Let's try something new

I'm horrible at this, I know, I promised you and myself that this year I would be a better blogger and here I am....not blogging.

I suppose this is how I am avoiding being accountable. If I don't write about it, maybe no one will notice? Well I noticed and the worst person to lie to is yourself. So here I am, writing.

I wont lie to you anymore. I haven't been doing the best job with keeping up with my resolutions. My running is sporadic ( i'll never get 200 miles in at this rate) and we already talked about my blogging, my creativeness is at a halt, and I have been slacking with different projects I want to tackle.

On the POSITIVE side, the best side, I HAVE been trying something new every week, I signed up for both the Gasperilla 5k and the Irongirl. 5k. And I got Enzo to wear shoes :) Yes it is the little things, isn't it??

So let me start by telling you the NEW things I have been trying.

The first week of January I had just gotten back from my pizza tour around NY during which I ate an estimated 6 pies and countless sweets. So needless to say the first thing on my mind when I got back was fitness. I was just planning on taking a nice easy Pilates class when Enzo decided that it was not time for mommy to leave. I checked the YMCA schedule and noticed they had Zumba at the same time little man goes down to bed. PERFECT. So there I was ready for some ZUMBA instruction, Never had taken this class before I introduced myself to the instructor and told her this was my first time. Her advice was just watch, keep moving, and you'll get it. WOAH was she wrong! I was all over the place! Apparently, unless I have a few drinks in me I have no sort of rhythm....well maybe I never do, but just think I do after a few drinks??  Either way, I am not sure if I left the class getting one step right but it was so much fun! And it really was a great workout, I will be back.

The second week I tried a new hair style. I haven't done anything but darken my hair since high school. Im out of HS 9 years already. WOW. So I went to the best hair dresser I know and this is the finished product

Amazing? I know right??!

Then last week I tried not only cooking with and eating fennel and rainbow chard. Nothing exciting to report on either. But the dish I made them in turned out pretty good.

Forever is composed of a bunch of nows

As Promised here are my 2012 resolutions. I spent a lot of time determining what I wanted to work on this year and this is what I came up with....
drum roll please....
_2012
This year I will       Live up to my POTENTIAL
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “ I’m possible"
Take more RISKS. Try something NEW every week
Eat more FRESH, Healthy, GREEN foods
WORKOUT until it shows, until I’m STRONG

I WILL

Double Bracket: Smile more Grow my blog YOGA
Read ALL my books CREATE
LEARN new things ( Crochet, Bosnian, Pull ups)
Drink more water (8 glasses a day)
Take Enzo to the beach more VOLUNTEER

DETERMINATION. INTEGRITY. CREATIVITY

I do not have any super fancy design programs and I am only so-so with Word so this is as creative as my resolutions are going to look for now. And it looks much cooler on my word programs, but this gets the point across. My main goal is to improve my life so that it is one that Enzo can be proud of, Narcis will want to share, and I can look back on with no regrets and nothing but smiles.

Bedtime Sucess!!

Finally!! It has been  a month now, with only one late night ( New Years Eve) that Enzo has gone to bed at his new bedtime! I could not be more elated! Unless he actually slept through the night of course. In time that will come. For now, a little HOORAY for our little man and his bedtime success.

This year my goal is to get Enzo sleeping through the night. No clue at all how to get that done, but I figure the older he gets and when he is done nursing that full nights of sleep will follow. In the mean time I am just becoming a pro at functioning on broken sleep.

Along with getting Enzo to sleep through the night I have also set up a little list of New Year's Resolutions. I am working on making it all pretty before I share it. Since it is something I plan to take the entire year I am ok with it not being ready right at the stroke of midnight. But I promise I will share it soon. I just got back from 10 days in NY seeing my family and friends and I am still going in circles now that I am home. I have got a list a mile long of things I need to get done. So until next time
